Ingredient Ginger Beer Margaritas

I’ve been waiting for this day to share the recipe with my friends.

This is the recipe that I am most looking forward to this month. No, really! This drink is my favorite of all the desserts I have shared (including the Cheesecakes). It’s a must-make. It would be best if you made it.

Margaritas: Their Origins

We don’t know which of the many theories about where the margarita originated is true. The most popular theory is that Carlos ‘Danny Herrera’ created it in 1938 at his restaurant in Tijuana Me, Mexico. He made it to satisfy a customer allergic to hard liquor except tequila but who wanted more than a single shot.

Ginger Beer Margaritas

This simple drink is a great way to start the day. It has flavors that seem like they were meant to be together: ginger beer, simple sugar, lime juice, tequila, and salt on your rim.

If you want to buy tequila that is of high quality, choose something else. Not Jose Cuervo Gold, which, I’ve just been told, isn’t really tequila. (I have been lying about it for years now, and it hurts. Altos is the brand we chose (no affiliation, no partnership – just pure love), and it’s great.

The key to choosing a good Tequila is. Make sure that it’s 100% agave. You’ll be able to tell that it is made from the best stuff and will be of higher quality. It will affect the final quality of your drink.

This recipe is easy to prepare. You can lime the rim of a glass with salt and lime juice, then add your other ingredients and ice in a large cocktail shaker or large glass and stir. Pour over more ice and garnish with lime. Then stir.

What is it like to taste? It’s the best margarita that I’ve had. And I have had many margaritas. Don’t worry, mom. I am not drunk. I like ritas.

The guys who are:

Tangy and sweet from the lime

Crisp ginger

& it’s just perfect.

John and I loved how they didn’t overwhelm the tequila and instead let it shine. They go with all Mexican dishes, which is perfect because we eat tacos twice a day. Hello fajitaville and nacho soup.

I am sure you will enjoy them. You will love them – unless you hate ginger beer. If that’s you, then GET OFF OF MY INTERNET. I’m kidding, but not kjoking Ok, kidding, but really? Who are you?) Cheers!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces of 100% agave Tequila (such As Altos // 1/2 ounce = 3 tbsp)
  • Fresh lime juice, 1 ounce (= 2 tablespoons)
  • 3 ounces ginger beer (3 ounces = 6 Tbsp)
  • Simple syrup, 1/2 ounce (1/2 ounce = 1 tbsp).
  • Half a cup of ice plus more to serve
  • Salt coarse (for lining the rim // optional).

Instructions

  • Use lime juice to line a small glass and sprinkle coarse salt on top (optional).
  • Stir vigorously the tequila with lime juice, ginger ale, simple syrup, and ice in a large cocktail glass or shaker. Shake with the lid off, or you’ll get a bursting explosion from the carbonation of ginger beer.
  • Pour the liquid into a serving glass (reserving some ice). Serve immediately with a wedge of lime. Repeat the process for additional drinks or double/triple amounts to serve more people.
