Cucumber Cooler Cocktails

Minimalist Baker may seem to be a very wealthy couple, but this is not the case. Now and then, we enjoy a good cocktail, especially if it is light, tasty, and easy to prepare. This cucumber cooler is a great example.

When my boss visited town a couple of weeks ago, we all went to a bar for drinks. It was a perfect evening. The weather was perfect—late summer, still warm enough for me not to wear a jacket. The cocktails were amazing.

The ingredients are simple: gin with lime, mint and cucumber, and tonic water. A novice bartender can make this cocktail to the delight of guests. It’s also easy to customize to each individual’s tastes so that you can please even the most discerning palates. John likes it sour, and I prefer it sweet. Bring on the sugar.

We had a delicious cocktail in just a few moments. The longer we sipped, the better the cocktail became because the flavors had more time to blend.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz gin (1 1/2 oz equals 3 Tbsp)
  • Cucumber, 4-6 slices
  • 1/4 medium lime (sliced)
  • Tonic water 4 oz
  • Six mint leaves
  • 1 Tbsp sugar (optional)

Instructions

  • Add the mint, lime, and sugar to a shaker.
  • Shake the cucumber slices in the shaker vigorously.
  • Pour the mixture into a glass with ice, and then top it off with tonic.
  • Stir and let the flavors enhance for a few moments. Then, enjoy.
